Typographic Maps Vol. 1 is an exploration of the intersection between text, maps and public spaces. This booklet documents observed textual matter in Shoreditch (in London) and examines the questions: Does text in public spaces have a relationship with one another? How does typographic matter interact with the space it inhabits? What does language become when situated in a public space? Through observation, reflection and mapping exercises, Typographic Maps Vol.1 aims to move closer to answering them.
These publications are intended to be distributed along Brick Lane. The reader is invited to follow in the same typographic journey using the accompanying map.
